Recently the Federal Government took a significant step forward in Nigeria’s journey toward building a thriving digital economy as a way of contributing to the nation’s Human Capacity Development. Today, we shine a spotlight on the government’s groundbreaking initiative which is the 3 million Technical Talent (3MTT) Program
This initiative aims to help address the digital skill gap in today’s rapidly evolving job market, the government is taking proactive measures to bridge the digital skills gap. The 3MTT program is a key component of this strategy, aiming to cultivate a pool of skilled individuals who can seamlessly integrate into the digital workforce.
The objective is to create 2 million digital jobs by the year 2025. This ambitious goal reflects a commitment to not only meet the demands of the digital era but also to strategically position Nigeria as a global player in the technology landscape in Africa.
MODE OF OPERATION:
The program operates on a fellowship model at its initial stage and is executed in collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). This allows Individuals with a keen interest in specific technical skills to have the opportunity to receive training funded by approved training providers. This approach ensures a tailored and hands-on learning experience for participants.
Focus on Critical Technical Skills
The 3MTT program is solely created to tackle some of the twelve critical technical skills, including Software Development, UI/UX Design, Data Analysis & Visualization, Quality Assurance, Product Management, Data Science, Animation, AI/Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Game Development, Cloud Computing, and DevOps. This comprehensive approach ensures that participants are equipped with the skills demanded by the contemporary digital landscape.
